Responsibilities
Work with a group of experienced analog/RF IC design experts in development of cellular‑band RFICs that have stand‑alone or integrated LNA cores, RF switches, attenuators, controller, and various RF and analog functional blocks Interface with system engineers and module design teams Create detailed specifications Define performance requirements Execute on design and simulations activities Report design progress Collect, track, and resolve any performance and circuit design issues Required Experience and Skills
BS + 12 years experience, MSEE + 8 years experience or PhD EE + 5 years experience Transistor‑level CMOS or SOI RFIC design knowledge Basic device physics Ability to develop and use advanced linear and nonlinear models or simulation techniques and be able to translate between the model, simulation, physical implementation, and the measured performance of a device Optimize RFIC performance using RF and microwave engineering knowledge Utilize simulation tools, analog and RF circuit test characterization techniques and equipment Good communication skills, be able to break down complex problems, set priorities, report progress, execute to a schedule, and have strong teamwork skills Strong understanding in RF/microwave fundamentals such as impedance matching, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, circuit stability and Electromagnetic theory Relevant experience in micro‑strip/strip line stack up/laminate/multi‑chip module (MCM), PA, LNA, RF switch design or passive circuit design such as integrated passive device, coupler and balun Strong circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS, 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum/EMX/Sonnet, HFSS/CST and Cadence and ability to translate between the model, simulation, physical implementation, and measured performance Strong lab skills in data collection/analysis, lab debug/tuning and product troubleshooting Compensation and Benefits
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $129,400 – $247,800 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium‑free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
