Position: Line Cook

Key Responsibilities Food Preparation

Prepare and cook menu items according to the restaurant's recipes and specifications.

Ensure all food products are of the highest quality, and freshness, and are prepared to order.

Portion and plate food products according to established standards.

Cooking

Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

Grill, fry, bake, and sauté food items as needed.

Monitor and maintain the proper temperature of cooking equipment.

Quality Control

Inspect food products for freshness and quality.

Ensure all dishes are prepared according to the specified portion sizes and presentation guidelines.

Taste and evaluate food products for quality before serving.

Cleanliness and Organization

Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by following food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces, utensils, and equipment.

Organize and stock kitchen stations with necessary supplies and ingredients.

Teamwork

Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Communicate effectively with team members regarding food orders, preparation, and timing.

Assist with training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff as needed.

Qualifications

1-3 years experience as a line cook in a restaurant or food service establishment is required.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

A culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary institute is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).

Ability to withstand high temperatures in a kitchen environment.

Working Conditions

Fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and noise.

Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.

Salary and Benefits

$21-26 / hr + tips DOE.

Benefits may include health insurance MRA (medical reimbursement account), up to 50% coverage employer benefit coverage, free meal per day, commuter benefits.
