The NCCU Department of Athletics' primary purpose is to provide leadership for an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics program. The NCCU Department of Athletics places the highest priority on a quality academic and athletic experience as part of the overall education of student-athletes. The Department of Athletics seeks to strengthen the integration of the athletics program objectives with academic development objectives.
Primary Purpose of Position The Deputy Athletic Director/Senior Women's Administrator provides comprehensive leadership and oversight for key administrative functions within the athletic department, ensuring compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations. This role is crucial in fostering a collaborative and respectful environment for student-athletes and staff, managing financial resources, and developing impactful programs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Collegiate administrative or coaching experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff, including interns and graduate assistants.
Proven experience in developing and implementing successful programs.
Thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations, Title IX, EEO, and student conduct policies.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Minimum Education/Experience
Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sports Administration, Higher Education Administration, Business Administration).
Experience in athletic administration, with a strong background in compliance, financial management, or student-athlete welfare.
