Job Description We are seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to join our team at a heavy equipment company located in Nashville, Tennessee. As a diesel mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines and heavy equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and safe for operation.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engine and heavy equipment issues
Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups
Repair or replace defective parts, such as transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
Use diagnostic tools, such as computerized diagnostic equipment, to identify issues
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
Adhere to safety protocols and standards at all times
Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to ensure equipment is repaired and maintained in a timely manner
Follow all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical school degree or certification in diesel mechanics strongly preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
Must have own tools
