Pearson . This strategic, high‑impact position is responsible for defining technical solutions that drive new customer acquisition, support entry into emerging markets, and expand capabilities for existing customers. Key Responsibilities – Architecture & Design

Develop robust, end‑to‑end solution architectures that balance customer needs with Pearson VUE’s strategic technology direction. Lead solution shaping for RFP/RFI responses, pre‑sales engagements, and complex customer implementations. Architect solutions that advance key modernization objectives—cloud‑native deployments, microservices, event‑driven patterns, resiliency, horizontal scalability, and platform consolidation. Evaluate and recommend technology patterns, integration frameworks, and architectural approaches that optimize both customer outcomes and long‑term product evolution. Produce architectural deliverables including high‑level solution approach/designs, conceptual models, sequence diagrams, data flows, standards, and reference architectures. Translate business and technical constraints into actionable design options and implementation guidance for project teams. Resolve day‑to‑day integration and build issues, ensuring technical consistency and stability across assigned products or services. Mentor platform/product architects and engineers, sharing best practices and supporting their technical growth. Implementation & Delivery

Translate solution architectures into actionable implementation guidance for engineering and delivery teams. Provide architectural oversight during development, integration, and rollout to ensure adherence to design principles and best practices. Identify technical risks early and develop mitigation strategies to ensure on‑time and high‑quality delivery. Ensure solutions comply with security, privacy, scalability, and availability requirements across global deployments. Support ongoing enhancement of existing systems by aligning technical decisions with target‑state architecture and modernization goals. Collaboration & Leadership

Partner with product managers, product architects, platform architects, engineering teams, and customer‑facing groups to align on solution direction and roadmap priorities. Provide thought leadership and mentorship to architecture and engineering teams, promoting consistent architectural principles and best practices. Lead technical discussions with customers, stakeholders, and executive audiences to articulate architectural strategies and decision rationale. Influence product roadmaps by incorporating customer needs, industry trends, competitive insights, and enterprise architecture standards. Represent Enterprise Architecture in customer engagements and strategic initiatives, strengthening Pearson VUE’s technical credibility and competitive positioning. Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Significant experience designing and implementing software architectures in enterprise environments. Hands‑on expertise in cloud platforms, API management, and infrastructure automation. Strong background in technical mentoring and cross‑team collaboration. Experience resolving integration and build issues in complex systems. Preferred

Experience in high‑availability, high‑volume platforms such as scheduling, proctoring, content delivery, or secure assessment systems. Architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, SAFe Architect). Experience applying AI/ML or AgenticAI concepts within enterprise products. Familiarity with security frameworks, compliance standards, and multi‑region deployment strategies. Skills & Competencies

Cloud Computing: Apply cloud platform expertise to architect modern, efficient solutions. API Management: Create and manage APIs to enable seamless integration and performance. Information Security: Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, and compliance standards. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate infrastructure management for consistency and efficiency. Technical Acumen: Analyze and interpret complex technical data to inform decisions. Problem Solving: Identify challenges and deliver practical, innovative solutions. Collaboration: Work effectively across teams to achieve shared goals. Adaptability: Respond productively to change and shifting priorities. Innovation: Apply technology strategy to develop differentiated solutions. Learning to Learn: Continuously develop new skills and stay current with emerging technologies. Additional Details

Travel: Occasional travel may be required for customer engagements or internal meetings. Reports to: Vice President of Product Management & Enterprise Architecture. Compensation
