Job Description L3Harris seeks an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support the Space Superiority & Imaging division’s customers and programs. In this role, you will perform information system security activities under the guidance of the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) on assigned information systems. You should be knowledgeable in IT and information assurance standards and regulations, working on security control assessments and continuous monitoring, configuration and vulnerability scanning, remediation, documentation and artifacts supporting Assessment and Authorization (A&A) under the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), and incident investigation.
Essential Functions
Perform continuous monitoring of assigned information systems, including user activity monitoring (auditing) using SIEM tools or native audit capabilities.
Conduct security control assessments.
Initiate, review, and remediate vulnerability and compliance scans using industry-approved tools (e.g., Nessus, ACAS).
Review and assess configuration settings against DISA STIG standards.
Develop and update documentation to obtain or maintain an Authority to Operate (ATO).
Attend Change Control Boards (CCB) to review and approve information system change requests.
Conduct and monitor security awareness training for system users.
Respond to, and investigate, security incidents and violations.
Qualifications
Active Secret security clearance.
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience, or Graduate Degree with no prior experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience is required.
Preferred Additional Skills
DoD 8570 IAM II certification.
Experience as an ISSO supporting classified systems under the JSIG, ICD 503, and/or 32 CFR Part 117 Section 18.
Experience auditing information systems and user activity.
Experience in IT support, preventative maintenance, and system building/maintenance.
Proficiency in troubleshooting operating systems and networks.
Experience configuring information systems to meet compliance standards from DISA, CISA, or NIST.
Salary Range:
$69,000 – $128,500 (Colorado)
