End Date: April 11, 2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
Estimated Weekly Pay: $2410 – $2580 per week
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of recent (within the last 3 years) full-time postpartum nursing experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Active California Registered Nurse License
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Proficient in electronic fetal monitoring and adult cardiac monitoring
IV insertion skills and lab draw experience
Knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin)
Ability to perform urine point of care testing and capillary blood glucose testing
Experience with IStat, newborn monitors, pulse oximetry, and cardiac monitoring
Ability to perform heel sticks/venipuncture on newborns
Knowledge of newborn medication administration (IV and maintenance)
Experience with Bili-blankets/lights and radiant warmers
Support for gynecological teaching and post-operative bladder training
Ability to provide maternal-newborn education and support
Preferred: Bachelors degree in nursing or related field; 3 years of labor and delivery and/or postpartum experience; 1 year of medical/surgical nursing experience; ACLS certification
Postpartum RN Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive postpartum care to mothers and newborns, ensuring patient safety and comfort
Monitor and assess maternal and newborn conditions, intervening as needed
Administer prescribed medications and treatments, including high-risk medications
Perform and interpret electronic fetal and adult cardiac monitoring
Conduct lab draws, IV insertions, and point of care testing
Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn care, and discharge instructions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies
