Senior Research and Development Formulation Chemist
Base pay range: $100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Overview This role sits at the center of skin care and cosmetic product innovation and execution. You will formulate topical products that move from concept through scale‑up and into production. Your work will directly impact product quality, performance, and consumer experience across a growing skin care and cosmetics portfolio. You will partner closely with internal teams and customers and play a visible role in bringing new formulations to market.
What You Will Do
You will formulate skin care and cosmetic products based on customer, regulatory, and business requirements.
You will create bench samples and document formulas, procedures, and results with precision.
You will maintain detailed lab notebooks and prepare clear manufacturing mixing instructions for topical formulations.
You will create and maintain INCI lists and technical documentation specific to cosmetic products.
You will participate in customer calls and translate product concepts and performance needs into workable skin care formulations.
You will support pilot and production batches and troubleshoot formulation or process challenges.
You will serve as a subject matter expert for skin care and cosmetic formulations across cross‑functional teams.
You will research and evaluate new cosmetic raw materials, actives, and emerging formulation technologies.
You will measure and interpret organoleptic properties such as texture, appearance, and sensorial feel to ensure product quality and consistency.

What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
Three to five years of hands‑on experience formulating skin care and cosmetic products.
Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
Solid lab reporting and formulation documentation practices.
Experience working with lab protocols and GMP standards in a cosmetic or personal care environment.
Working knowledge of MS Office.
Familiarity with FDA cosmetic regulations and quality control best practices is a plus.
