ABOUT PURPOSE MEDICAL MISSION:
Purpose Medical Mission (PMM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building long-term, self-sustaining healthy communities in areas affected by extreme poverty and limited access to healthcare and education. Through a combination of spiritual support, preventive care, and compassionate service, we work to strengthen the resilience of communities facing the challenges of tomorrow. Our mission includes delivering quality healthcare programs, establishing clinics and urgent care centers in underserved regions, and mobilizing volunteers, medical professionals, ministers, and educators to expand health awareness and holistic healing around the world.
For nearly two decades, PMM has operated as a fully volunteer‑led organization, mobilizing medical professionals, supplies, and local partnerships to deliver sustainable, community‑driven medical care to Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Jamaica, The Bahamas, and the United States. As PMM expands its reach and impact, we are hiring our first Fractional Executive Director (ED) to help strengthen organizational capacity, guide strategic growth, and support the board in its mission.
POSITION OVERVIEW The Fractional Executive Director will serve as PMM’s single point of accountability for organizational leadership, daily operations, and implementation of strategic priorities. This leader will work closely with the Founder and Board of Directors, translating the board’s vision into clear plans, sustainable systems, and measurable results. The ED will build organizational capacity across fundraising, volunteer engagement, administrative infrastructure, and community presence.
Estimated Commitment: 10–15 hours per week
Reports to: Board of Directors
RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Management
Serve as the primary point of accountability for day-to-day operations and organizational performance.
Translate the Board’s vision into actionable annual plans, timelines, KPIs, and measurable goals.
Attend board meetings providing consistent reporting regarding progress, risks, and opportunities.
Support a strong volunteer culture through clear roles, communication, and coordination.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and nonprofit regulations.
Fundraising & Donor Stewardship
Strengthen donor relationships through consistent communication, personalized stewardship, timely thank‑yous, and impact reporting.
Develop and implement diversified fundraising strategies, including grants, recurring giving, corporate partnerships, and sponsorships.
Support fundraising events, campaigns, and donor engagement initiatives.
Identify and cultivate new donor prospects and partnership opportunities.
Organizational Development
Implement or improve essential administrative systems, including donor database/CRM, accounting workflows, communication processes.
Create and manage operational processes that support consistent, high‑quality execution of PMM programs.
Support the Board with recruitment, onboarding, governance tools, and best practices.
Establish frameworks for evaluating mission impact and organizational effectiveness.
External Engagement
Support the Founder at local public events and speaking engagements.
Represent PMM in the community and with partners to expand organizational visibility and credibility.
Build and maintain relationships with nonprofits, medical institutions, civic groups, and sponsors.
Oversee or coordinate external communications including website, social media, and newsletters.
QUALIFICATIONS Required:
5+ years of nonprofit leadership or senior management experience.
Proven ability to manage operations, build systems, and execute strategic plans.
Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor stewardship, or resource development.
Experience working with volunteer‑driven organizations and nonprofit boards.
Strong communication, relationship‑building, and project management skills.
Commitment to cultural humility and PMM’s mission.
Preferred:
Experience with global health, medical missions, or international development.
Grant writing, nonprofit finance, or CRM/database management experience.

COMPENSATION & STRUCTURE
