Job Overview
The Building Services Project Manager will plan, coordinate, oversee and direct major facility construction projects, including new builds, remodels and general facility improvements for County buildings.
Responsibilities
Manage construction contracts and negotiate contract fees.
Prepare project cost estimates and design/ layout for small or minor projects.
Write requests for proposals, send to potential vendors, and recommend selection of contract vendors.
Perform code and contract compliance inspections for county-wide construction, renovation and remodeling projects, including structural and non-structural plan review and field inspection of construction and remodeling work.
Collaborate with County departments and the Building Services Manager to coordinate remodeling and new construction projects and evaluate needs, preparing feasibility studies.
Develop communication strategies to notify public/employees about construction progress and impacts.
Provide technical assistance in facilities construction and remodeling to other departments, including cost estimates, direction and coordination.
Assist in development of capital programs and budgets for facility improvements, manage specialized engineering and technical projects using staff and/or outside contractors.
Develop design criteria, sketches, schematic drawings, specifications, and details necessary for special projects.
Coordinate design work with the Building Services Manager and manage special construction or restoration projects for the Historic Courthouse.
Coordinate departmental compliance efforts with AWAIR, OSHA, and ADA; recommend policies, coordinate staff safety training, and serve as liaison to the County's Safety Committee.
Ensure safety standards and compliance; recommend department policies and procedures for safety.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desirable Experience
Paid work experience delivering facility new build, remodel, or modification projects.
Paid work experience delivering signage and wayfinding design and implementation projects in a facility setting.
Paid work experience working with or for a government agency on facility construction projects.
Paid work experience managing construction budgets and schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Planning or a directly related field.
At least two years of full-time work experience in building or construction project management (internship may count). Must have and maintain a valid class D driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification as a State Building Official.
Commercial or construction project management work experience.

Hours / Days Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Work schedule, hours and location may change based on department needs.
Anticipated Hiring Range $72,675.20 – $85,914.40 annually.

Physical & Mental Requirements Work requires a variable blend of office and field physical tasks, lifting up to 25 pounds intermittently. The incumbent operates equipment and may need to walk in construction areas and climb ladders.
Working Conditions The Senior Building Services Project Manager drives regularly, sometimes in inclement weather, and spends approximately 65 % of the time in the field and 35 % in the office.
