Dental Office Front Desk Representative

About the Role Metro Dentalcare is looking for a front desk representative (Business Assistant) to join our oral surgery team. The successful candidate will greet patients, manage front office duties, schedule appointments, file insurance claims, process payments, and partner with the providers to implement the Heartland Dental systems.
Responsibilities
Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office to create a great first impression.
Manage front office duties, including answering phones, checking office mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies.
Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records.
Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers in the office.
File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verification of benefits and explanation of coverage.
Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivables.
Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients.
Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential.

Salary range: $20–25 per hour.
Schedule:
Monday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Thursday: Off.
Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience working in a fast‑paced and customer‑centric environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job‑related functions; regular HIPAA training will be required.
Preferred Experience
1+ year of experience in a dental or medical setting.
1+ year of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable.
Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Availability to attend virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year.
TB test required for all new hires in dental office positions (with testing arrangements provided during pre‑employment).
