Multi-Process Metal Fabrication Operator

As a Multi-Process Metal Fabrication Operator at O’Neal Manufacturing Services (OMS) in Greensboro, you’ll set up, run, and fine‑tune a variety of industrial equipment to deliver precise parts for the construction and heavy equipment sectors.
Pay Range $17.00/hr – $19.00/hr
Shift Third Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Monday–Friday. Overtime as needed. Shift premium: $1.50/hour.
What You’ll Operate and Do
Set up and run production equipment, including adjusting or replacing expendable tooling, guides, jigs, and fixtures.
Work across multiple machines: angle line, beveller, saw, shear, oxy‑fuel or plasma burner, laser cutter (including tube/custom laser), rolling machine, flattening press, shot blaster, manual and robotic welders, press brake, machining center or lathe.
Support OMS safety and quality programs by following established procedures and standards.
Perform other tasks as assigned to keep production moving.
Skills That Set You Up for Success
Forklift and crane operation capability.
Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.
Comfort using hand tools: hammer, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders.
Accurate use of measuring tools: tape measure, box calipers, slide dial calipers, and micrometers.
Confident converting fractions to decimals (and back) and converting metric to imperial units.
Track record of delivering high‑quality work to internal and external customers.
Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines with minimal oversight.
Speak, write, and understand conversational English; strong attention to detail.
Welding experience is a plus.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Lift 20–50 lbs repeatedly during the shift.
Stand, sit, bend, twist, and stoop for extended periods; walk 2–5 miles per shift.
Visual acuity of 20/30 with corrective lenses; fine hand‑finger coordination for precise work.
Exposure to changing indoor/outdoor temperatures, loud noise, and vibration from equipment.
Hazards include proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high heat, and chemicals.
Atmospheric exposure may include fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or areas with limited ventilation.
Air and/or skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
