We are looking for a Sensor Engineer to design, evaluate, and integrate the sensor systems that power our autonomous trucking platform. In this role, you will take ownership of sensor selection, system architecture, and vehicle integration, working closely with perception, localization, hardware, and on board teams to deliver robust, scalable, and production‑ready solutions. This is a hands‑on engineering role with direct impact on real‑world autonomous driving performance.

Key Responsibilities

Sensor Evaluation & Validation

Evaluate and benchmark sensors including LiDAR, radar, cameras, IMU, GNSS/RTK, ultrasonic, and related components

Design and execute test plans to characterize sensor performance (accuracy, latency, robustness, environmental resilience, reliability)

Analyze large‑scale vehicle data to identify limitations and drive improvements

Design the sensor system architecture and system diagrams for autonomous trucks

Define sensor placement, coverage, redundancy, and failure‑handling strategies

Specify data interfaces, synchronization, and networking (CAN, Ethernet, etc.) between sensors and compute platforms

System Integration

Lead sensor integration at the vehicle and system level

Work closely with perception, localization, planning, onboard systems, and vehicle hardware teams to bring up and debug the system

Support sensor calibration workflows (intrinsics, extrinsics, time synchronization)

Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement

Debug sensor‑related issues including data dropouts, timing misalignment, noise, and environmental failures

Drive optimization across performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability

Others:

Collaborate with sensor vendors and track industry technology trends

Stay updated with the latest advancements in sensors and actively contribute to research and development efforts to enhance the capabilities of our autonomous vehicle platform.

Qualifications Required :

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Automotive Engineering, or related fields

3+ years of experience in autonomous driving, ADAS, robotics, or automotive sensing systems

Strong understanding of the operating principles and trade‑offs of multiple sensor modalities (e.g., LiDAR + camera, radar + IMU)

Ability to design and communicate clear

sensor system diagrams and technical trade‑offs

Familiarity with in‑vehicle communication protocols such as

CAN, CAN‑FD, Automotive Ethernet

Proficiency in

Python or C++

for data analysis and debugging

Solid understanding of sensor calibration, synchronization, and multi‑sensor fusion fundamentals

Preferred :

Experience with autonomous trucks or commercial vehicles

Production or pre‑production automotive program experience

Knowledge of functional safety concepts (ISO 26262)

Experience with ROS / ROS2 or other autonomous driving middleware

Hands‑on experience working with sensor suppliers and external partners
