Summary Workday Technical Analyst III
Position Highlights
The Technical Analyst III serves as a senior, key technical expert in the business systems enterprise applications team, positioned between the Technical Architect and the Technical Analyst II roles. This role requires deep ERP or Workday technical knowledge, advanced problem-solving skills, and the ability to assess cross-functional impacts across Workday HCM, Payroll, Financials, Supply Chain and other enterprise systems.
The Technical Analyst III partners with business stakeholders and IT teams to design, configure, and deliver high-quality solutions that support organizational goals. In addition to leading complex technical initiatives, this role mentors the more junior resources on the team, provides guidance on best practices, and ensures operational excellence within the Workday ecosystem. This role is also the point of escalation for the Technical Analyst II.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Workday solutions across HCM, Payroll, Finance, and Supply Chain modules.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Advise on the downstream impact of business configuration changes to other workstreams and integrations.
Document technical configurations, workflows, and support procedures
Develop and maintain calculated fields, condition rules, business processes, and enterprise-wide custom reports.
Support system upgrades, testing, and release management activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within Workday and integrated systems including UKG and Hyland OnBase.
Troubleshoot integration failures and partner with vendors and the integrations team for resolution.
Assist with planning and implementing new vendor feeds or deprecating legacy systems.
Ensure data integrity and compliance through audits, validations, and process improvements.
Migrate configuration resolutions from lower development tenants to Production.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
Serve as an escalation point for complex system issues.
Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on best practices and standards.
Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to enhance enterprise application capabilities.
Credentials and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree – Information systems, Computer Science, Risk Management, Business, or a related field
7+ years of experience supporting and configuring enterprise systems such as Lawson, PeopleSoft or Workday, with expertise in multiple modules such as HCM, Payroll, Finance, and Supply Chain.
Experience supporting multiple enterprise modules
Experience with UKG and Hyland OnBase or Perceptive is highly desirable.
Experience analyzing cross-functional impacts and collaborating with both IT and business teams to deliver solutions.
Proactively identifies opportunities for automation, scalability, and performance improvements across systems.
Experience with Workday reporting tools, integrations, and security configuration is a plus.
Workday certification in Platform Administration or HCM, Finance, or Supply Chain is required within 9 months of hire.
