Data Engineer – Google Cloud Platform (Cybersecurity)

About the Role As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) to support our cybersecurity data mart customers. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, reliability, and scalability. Your expertise in BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer, Python, and SQL will be key to delivering solutions that enable security analytics and reporting.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform tools (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer).
Build and optimize SQL queries for ETL processes (data extraction, transformation, and loading).
Partner with business stakeholders and SMEs to gather requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
Implement best practices for data quality, governance, and security.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure high availability and performance of data pipelines.
Contribute to data architecture decisions and recommend improvements.
Stay current with emerging trends in cloud data engineering and cybersecurity.
Document processes and procedures for producing metrics.
Work in an Agile environment to deliver incremental value.
Lead investigations and resolve data issues promptly.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
5 years of experience in data management, including integrating data from multiple sources and transforming it for analysis.
Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform services: BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer.
Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and automation.
Experience with ETL processes and pipeline design.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools (Tableau, Grafana, Looker).
Familiarity with additional Google Cloud Platform services (Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Data Studio).
Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices (Terraform).
Understanding of cybersecurity data tools and analysis methodologies.
Relevant certifications (CompTIA Sec , CISM, CISSP, CRISC, CISA).
Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls, COBIT, ISO).
