Job Overview: The Housekeeping Worker, Lead, assumes lead responsibilities for housekeeping activities; assists with training; environmental inspections; equipment maintenance; schedules; and supply inventory in addition to having a normal work schedule.
Qualifications: Required:
Knowledge of hospital operation
Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and chemicals
Preferred:
High School diploma or equivalent
Prior supervisory experience/skills
Scheduling Requirements:
3:30pm-12:00am

Essential Functions:
Arranges furniture for meetings, workshops, and community affairs
Assures equipment storage room is neat and clean and that equipment is appropriately stored at the end of each shift
Cleans all environmental surfaces in assigned area according to department policies and procedures
Cleans and dusts all offices or patient rooms, ventilators, I.V. poles, windowsills, furniture and fixtures. Cleans all ceiling tiles, walls, and floors
Cleans in OR, Central Services by using proper and specialized cleaning procedures and solutions
Climbs ladders to hang cubical drapes or reach high areas for cleaning purposes
Collects waste from all hospital and sanitary cans. Keeps compactor area sanitized; collects and distributes soiled or clean linen; collects hazardous waste and follows infectious waste procedures
Empties trash and cleans all bathrooms, ceilings, tiles, mirrors, sinks, toilets, and floorsExercises supervisory authority and independent judgment in directing employee labor
Keeps janitor’s closet clean and tidy. Returns used mops to laundry room at end of shift
Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and has repairs made when needed
Makes recommendations regarding the on-going performance evaluation of supervised staff and resulting actions
Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods
Performs patient discharge room cleaning
Sweeps and mops floor, vacuums carpets, spot clean carpets. Operates various types of cleaning equipment, both mechanical and electrical; returns unused supplies to closet, cleans carts, and equipment
Performs all other duties as assigned
