Position Title Research Assistant/Analyst

Location Campus, Salt Lake City, UT

Department 00235 – Infectious Disease

Pay Rate $12.02 to $21.63 per hour

Work Schedule / Hours Part‑time, 20 hours per week, day shift. Work is performed in an office environment.

Job Summary Collects and compiles data from a variety of sources; may enter data into a PC or computer terminal. Statistically analyzes data, including calculating mean, median and standard deviation, plotting scattergrams and performing multiple regression analysis. May edit research papers, project reports, proposals, and curriculum materials prior to publication or presentation. Prepares format for final disposition of data and maintains an internal library of project information resources. Collaborates with research personnel on design, preparation and recording of research projects.

Responsibilities Data collection, entry, statistical analysis, preparation of documentation, library maintenance, and collaboration with research staff on project design and data recording.

Physical Requirements

Nearly continuously: sitting, hearing, listening, talking in an office setting.

Often: repetitive hand motion (typing), walking.

Seldom: bending, reaching overhead.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a related field, or equivalent experience (2 years of related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). One year of experience in research and analytical techniques. Demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience. Demonstrated human‑relations and effective communication skills.
