Base pay range $23.00/hr - $26.00/hr

Summary Responsible for the daily classroom operation of the Infant, including providing high quality care and education alongside 1-2 co‑teachers for up to 8 children daily in alignment with licensing ratio requirements (ages 6 weeks to approximately 18 months old) and maintaining positive collaborations with families, coworkers, service providers, and community partners.

Duties

Facilitate high‑quality student engagement and classroom management.

Implement Developmentally, Culturally, and Linguistically Appropriate Curriculum Development for your assigned classroom.

Assist in relevant record‑keeping organization, training and compliance.

Cultivate strong family‑teacher partnerships.

Be a team player.

Requirements Must be at least 20 years of age and meet minimum qualifications for an early childhood teacher as described by the Vermont Child Development Division for Licensed Child Care Center Programs and NAEYC to include or exceed:

At least a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Four (4) A or B Certificate; or

At least a bachelor degree from an accredited college with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, Special Education with a birth to eight (8) years of age focus, or Child and Family Services and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; or 96

At least a bachelor degree from an accredited college with at least successful completion of thirty (30) college credits with an early childhood or school age focus and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; or

Hold at least a current Vermont Agency of Education teaching license with an endorsement in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, or Elementary Education.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

Sit, stand and/or move about for extended periods.

Actively engage in play activities with students.

Visual acuity to read and write printed materials, computer screens and observe students’ movement.

Hearing and speech abilities for ordinary and telephonic conversations and to speak to small groups of children.

Ambulatory ability to move around the classroom, playgrounds and assist with play‑oriented learning activities.

Ability to lift children, carry, push and move supplies/furniture/etc. of light‑to‑medium weight (under 40 lbs.) on an intermittent basis.
