Job Title: Claims Representative
Location: Alliance Brokerage Corp. – Melville, NY 11747
Reports to: Claims Manager
Department: Claims
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Job Purpose The Claims Representative supports clients and internal teams by managing the intake, reporting, and coordination of insurance claims across multiple lines of coverage. This role ensures timely communication, accurate documentation, and compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities 1. Claims Support and Coordination
Process intake, reporting, and documentation of commercial and personal lines claims, including Property & Casualty, General Liability, Professional Liability, and Workers’ Compensation.
Gather claim details, supporting documentation, and loss information from clients.
Submit claims to insurance carriers and confirm receipt and claim numbers.
Track claim status and proactively follow up with carriers, adjusters, attorneys, and clients.
Prepare claim summaries, updates, and status reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
Ensure all claim activity is accurately documented in Applied Epic and carrier portals.
2. Client Communication
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding claim-related questions and updates.
Communicate claim progress, next steps, and required documentation clearly and professionally.
Maintain empathetic and professional communication during potentially stressful situations.
Collaborate closely with Account Executives, Producers, and Claims leadership.
3. Team and Organizational Support
Support Claims leadership with special projects, audits, and carrier reviews as needed.
Ensure compliance with internal procedures, carrier requirements, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of insurance agency claims experience.
Experience with commercial and personal lines claims and coverage interpretation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Applied Epic experience is strongly preferred.
Compensation
Compensation range is based on working in-office in the state in which the position resides.
Working Conditions
Office-based role with extended periods of computer use.
This is an At-Will position. Employment may be terminated at any time, with or without cause or notice.
