Job Description CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO ST. LOUIS
We are looking for a Senior WebSphere Portal Administrator with 6-8 years’ experience supporting WebSphere Application Server on Unix and Windows operating systems. The candidate must demonstrate solid experience with system administration, change management, user management and software logistics to ensure smooth and efficient operation of WebSphere Application Server environment. The candidate should be able to provide 2nd level of support to 1st level Web/WebSphere/Portal Administrators within the team.
Essential Functions
Supporting WebSphere Application Server and Web Servers (Apache, IHS, IIS) in WebSphere environments
Day to day administration of WebSphere Portal environments including configuration changes, troubleshooting and performance tuning
Applying fixes/fixpacks, Upgrades/Migrations based on the need/requirement
Support aggressive deployments from development to pre-production and production WebSphere environments
Troubleshooting performance problems considering infrastructure, database and other WebSphere interfaces
Supporting production environment during non-business hours
Technical Support to application developers
Documenting all the changes/issues/resolutions
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred
Six to eight years WebSphere Application Server experience
Strong expertise with WebSphere Portal
Strong expertise performing WebSphere Application Server administration in a cluster environment on Linux, AIX and Windows
Proven experience installing, upgrading and supporting WebSphere Application Server with Oracle RDBMS as a backend database and Apache/IHS as frontend webserver in WebSphere Application/Portal environments
Good understanding of concepts and technologies such as SOA, Messaging, Transformation Engines, Webservices and Data integration techniques
Must have completed at least 2 upgrades/migrations
Experience with wsadmin, jacl, jython, perl, and shell scripting
Knowledge in other supporting products such as Splunk, Jira, SVN/Maven/Artifactory is preferred
Willing to learn new middleware software like Tibco, SAS along with reporting software like Tableau and Webfocus
WebSphere Application Server Administration certification is preferred
