Position Overview The Commercial Banking Associate (CBA) is an entry‑level position within the Commercial Banking Group responsible for assisting the client teams; this includes assisting in the development and analysis of new commercial relationships, including small business and non‑profit organizations, and deposit and treasury management business; the expansion of existing relationships; and servicing customers. This position may also work closely with the underwriting team to assist with financial spreads or credit analysis. The CBA will also assist with sales proposals, act as a liaison between customers and other service departments or branch locations of the Bank to support sales and service issues; supports a team approach to complex customer relationships to ensure all needs are addressed; may be asked to research market condition/trends so the Bank will remain competitive in local market. This role promotes the bank’s mission and culture in the communities served.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assist the commercial relationship teams to build and maintain professional banking relationships with clients/prospects (commercial, small business, non‑profit organizations and high net worth individuals) who utilize full array of banking products including loans and depository/cash management services.
Support mission aligned relationships throughout the Bank including referrals to other business units.
Work directly with Relationship Managers, Client & Treasury Managers and Associates, Director of Client and Treasury Management, Underwriters/Portfolio Managers and other team members and/or other personnel in the development of a sales strategy for the respective area of responsibility while ensuring the execution of the strategy.
Contribute to Commercial Banking Group growth, retention goals and exceptional service.
Assist with the development of sales presentations for customers/prospects including cost/benefit analyses; service and fee comparisons, written proposals, credit and financial analysis.
Attend joint calls, when appropriate, with commercial / small business primary officers, branch managers and team members to provide assistance in acquiring new business and/or closing the relationship.
Work closely with other team members within the bank to identify new business opportunities and execution.
Develop a basic knowledge of the overall array of bank services available for both consumer and commercial clients and learn to cross‑sell those services as needed by the client.
Perform duties to assist primary officers with the completion of entire packages necessary for client set up; open and fund new relationships properly.
Attend training classes and complete assigned compliance and sales training deemed appropriate by Manager to expand banking knowledge and potential expanded credit or sales skills.
Assist primary officers with the tracking of sales‑related activities in the bank’s Client Relationship Management system, including sales pipeline and client/prospect calls.
Responsible for individual and team goals that support Commercial Banking Group overall strategy and financial plan.
Monitor bank expenses prudently on an ongoing basis and prepare monthly expense reports for management or staff, as needed.
Deliver excellent client service (external to clients and community in addition to internal with colleagues).
Investigate and solve simple client problems, recognize when to elevate for primary officers to step in to resolve.
Analyze previous bank statements, financials, statistics or other data to determine the level of client service and product mix for recommendation.
Follow protocol for feedback or complaint procedures for clients to use.
Participate in financial education or guidance to communities served.
Comply with all requirements, policies and procedures of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and attend all mandatory BSA training as needed for this position. Additionally, required to complete all required compliance and regulatory training, not limited to BSA. Managers are responsible to ensure staff/departmental attendance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY The position of Commercial Banking Associate is not responsible for the supervision of any employee(s).
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY The incumbent is in a non‑confined office‑type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The position may include driving a personal or company owned vehicle approximately 15% of the time which includes exposure to the outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 30 pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.
The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, cellular telephone, copy and fax machines, adding machine (calculator), money counter, computer terminal, personal computer and related printers, instant issue machine, cash recycler, branch capture scanners, and video conferencing equipment.

COMPENSATION The posted pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role but may include ranges from the different geographies where this position may be based. New employees' starting pay is usually from the start of the range to approximately 25% of the max, more qualified and/or experienced employees may start near the middle of the range for their geography. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Compensation for our organization is based on factors that include the role, required knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies, and candidates’ relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Our pay ranges are based on national living wage indexes, such as MIT's living wage index, to enable us to pay our employees beyond what are standard practices for many employers, and also take into account geographically‑specific recent compensation market survey data for each position.
