Speech Language Pathologist NICU PRN Medical City Las Colinas, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist for our Level II NICU on a PRN basis.

Job Summary The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. The role requires comprehensive patient assessments, treatment planning, and education of patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

Conduct subjective assessments of assigned patients' speech and language abilities during spontaneous conversation.

Administer objective tests to assess patient communication assets and liabilities.

Structure and implement individualized patient programs to improve communication abilities.

Evaluate patients regularly during treatment and adjust programs as needed to maximize progress.

Document progress in the patient chart and complete notes, charges, discharge notes, and patient communications.

Consult with Program Director and Rehabilitation Physician/Medical Director for pre-screen assessments and physician consultations regarding patient placement.

Qualifications

Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.

Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) or equivalent (SLP).
