Job Details The Warehouse Shift Lead plays a key role in overseeing daily warehouse operations within a solar manufacturing facility. This position ensures the efficient flow of materials, maintains inventory accuracy, and upholds safety and quality standards. The Shift Lead will supervise warehouse associates, coordinate shipping and receiving activities, and collaborate with other departments to support production goals.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Leadership : Lead and coordinate a team of warehouse associates during assigned shifts. Train, mentor, and provide feedback to team members to improve performance and efficiency. Ensure adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
Warehouse Operations : Oversee the receiving, storage, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished solar products. Monitor workflow and adjust priorities to meet production schedules. Conduct regular inventory counts and ensure accurate stock levels. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and inventory scanners as needed.
Quality & Safety Compliance : Enforce workplace safety regulations and participate in safety audits. Ensure all materials are handled and stored properly to prevent damage or loss. Identify and report potential hazards, equipment malfunctions, and quality issues.
Documentation & Reporting : Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory movements. Generate shift reports and communicate key updates to management. Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or relevant certification preferred. 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing or solar industry setting. 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a warehouse or logistics role. Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, WMS, ERP). Forklift certification or willingness to obtain. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. All roles require English proficiency. Internal candidates must meet attendance and time-in-service eligibility requirements. Attendance Points : Must be fewer than 3. Time-in-Service : Requirement depends on the current department.
Compensation The range for this position is $27.00 hourly rate - $29.00 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
