Job Description

New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) is a coordinating agency for the City of New York. The agency plans and prepares for emergencies, educates the public about preparedness, coordinates emergency response and recovery, and collects and disseminates emergency information. The agency maintains a disciplined unit of emergency management personnel including attorneys,, planners, watch commanders, logisticians, community outreach, communications, administrative and support staff to identify and respond to various hazards. Division Overview

The Planning and Resiliency (P&R) division prepares the City to respond and adapt to emergencies through collaborative, scalable planning; comprehensive interagency coordination; and advancing recovery and resiliency. The division is organized into Interagency Coordination, Resiliency and Recovery, and the Planning unit, with subject matter experts in Health and Medical, Human Services, and Critical Infrastructure. Position: College Aide – WMD Program

The Health and Medical unit is looking for a college aide to support the Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) program at NYCEM. The college aide will be responsible for administrative and operational tasks, including note taking, project management tracking, and strategic planning support. Responsibilities

Schedule and track meetings for the WMD Program and H&M unit Maintain and organize team folders for the WMD program Provide administrative support for the CHEMPACK program Support the development of planning documents related to Chemical/Biological/Radiological and Nuclear planning Support FIFA 2026 and Sail250 planning activities Support the development of strategic roadmaps for the program Perform other tasks as assigned Requirements / Qualifications

Master’s level student or above with previous administrative experience Strong organizational skills Attention to detail Administrative experience Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Additional Information
