A Brief Overview Under the direction of the Imaging Services Manager, the Mammography Supervisor is responsible for planning and overseeing all operational aspects and activities for Mammography and Dexa (Bone Density). While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the major responsibilities are supervising all day-to-day operations including the delivery of care, patient satisfaction, human resource management, equipment oversight and process improvement activities. In addition to daily supervision, this individual will participate in planning efforts involving space, equipment, staff, systems, services, supplies, budgeting and financial management and future programs and services. The Supervisor is a positive, effective member of the Radiology/Medical Imaging management team, fostering a customer/patient focused perspective and ensuring a strong commitment to organizational service standards. The individual maintains collaborative multi-disciplinary relationships within and outside of the organization.

What you will do

Functions as a leader/expert in appropriate modality or multiple modalities. Assists in the selection, training, and supervision for assigned staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities, while providing optimal service to internal and external customers. Responsible for operational practices that deliver effective and efficient services and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Collaborate with medical staff and administration to assess operations and evaluate quality. Identifies and analyzes work processes implementing appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity and efficiency and patient access.

Monitors and ensures QC/QA compliance with all relevant laws, state and federal regulations, licensing and accreditation requirements, hospital and departmental standards for safety, infection control and equipment performance. Provides timely access to equipment, supplies, and logistical support to the Information Technology, Bio Medical, Clinical Engineering and Medical Physicists departments. Facilitates/follow-up with repairs and maintenance as needed on equipment and supplies. Troubleshoot system and equipment issues as needed.

Coordinate with radiologists, technologists, and administrative staff to streamline patient care and optimize workflow.

Provide patient care as a Mammography/Dexa Technologist when needed. Will follow all position responsibilities and functions of a mammographer and/or Dexa Technologist.

Serves as the primary educator and “go to” individual for all mammography technologists at all TH facilities and in general provides assistance in forming mammography policies, programs, and protocols.

Education Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology Required

Experience Qualifications

Five (5) years imaging experience Required

Prior imaging staff leadership experience Preferred

Healthcare system-based experience on quality and patient safety initiatives Preferred

Skills and Abilities

Proven leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities

Familiarity with Microsoft programs, to include but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook

Strong organization and multitasking skills

Proven Excellence in organizational skills

Prior experience with EPIC and PACS

Licenses and Certifications

Mammography – American Registry Radiologic Technologist Required

Radiography – South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Required

Basic Life Support Certified – American Heart Association within 30 Days Required
