Sonographer – All About Ultrasound
Performs as a resource person for Vascular Ultrasound. Performs all levels of vascular exams and ultrasounds as ordered. Reviews and presents test results for physician interpretation. Assists with evaluation and implementation of new equipment and procedures. To be successful, you will possess excellent patient service and communication skills, sharp eyesight, and meticulous attention to detail. You will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and advanced decision‑making skills to effectively capture and interpret sonographic data, ensuring optimal diagnostic support.
Performs exams based on anatomy and patient habitus per exam protocol
Demonstrates competency in performing procedures as reflected in the exam protocol and complies with performance of two patient identifiers and gel in/gel out. Produces high‑quality imaging, provides legible, accurate and complete documentation to physician.
Performs exams proficiently in ED, interdepartmentally and portable throughout the IP hospital campus.
Prepares patients for pending exams by providing instructions related to NPO status, drinking, evaluating labs, etc.
Demonstrates proficiency in locating patient information in Empower, RCO, RADNET, Dominator as needed in the performance/dictation of exam.
Accurately, thoroughly and timely completes hospital/department forms per protocol i.e. incident reports, side/site forms, maintenance request forms etc. Completes exam(s) in Radnet, enters notes or other required documentation into Radnet, DR or other computer systems.
Job Requirements Minimum
Completion of ARDMS approved Vascular Ultrasound program
Two years experience in performing vascular ultrasounds
Registered Vascular Technologist
American Heart Association Basic Life Support – CPR
Preferred
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
