Job Description
Provide nursing care for a busy outpatient clinic within a comprehensive cancer center, which includes research, transplant, and chemotherapy with lab services and patient visits.
Collaborate with two advanced practice providers present in the unit at all times.
Participate in a work environment tailored towards travelers' experience and background, including roles such as charge nurse, resource nurse, and teaching nurse.
Utilize EPIC for documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Manage chemotherapy administration, which includes body fluid handling post-chemotherapy, continuous infusion, IV push administration, and cytotoxic spill management.
Monitor patients under chemotherapy and recognize and communicate abnormal lab values.
Perform and manage IV therapy tasks such as accessing ports, antifungal and antiviral administration, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, and infusion pump management.
Administer medications effectively and manage symptoms related to cancer treatment.
Comply with health and safety measures including COVID-19 and flu vaccination requirements, with exemptions for medical or religious reasons.
Orientation 24 hours required
Attire Grey or teal scrubs are required; not provided.
