Description Of Duties Title: Technical Designer

Classification: Non-Exempt

Working Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00AM-5:30PM

Schedule: Onsite, 4 days in office, 1 day remote

DÔEN is looking for a dynamic and experienced Technical Designer to join our growing team in Los Angeles. This position is on site/in‑office and will report to the SR TD of the specific category. The Technical Designer will be primarily responsible for executing designs' aesthetic vision from development through production. They will work closely with their partners in Design, Product Development and Production and will be responsible for the fit execution of specified categories. The responsibilities below show a glimpse into the role's key functions and the impactful contributions this position makes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Accountable for fit, construction, quality and consistency of assigned styles throughout the product lifecycle.

Build initial tech packs and instruct vendors on how to execute quality prototype samples that align with the designs vision and the DÔEN fit aesthetic.

Lead fittings with cross‑functional partners to execute design aesthetic and meet DÔEN fit standards.

Take clear and concise notes in fittings for assigned categories.

Proactively address fit and construction issues without compromising fit functionality or productivity at the factory level.

Identify potential production, quality and costing issues and make recommendations to ensure brand integrity.

Communicate clear, concise fit and pattern corrections and work closely with vendors daily to problem‑solve issues and expedite samples.

Manage multiple seasons and prioritize work accordingly to meet critical calendar deadlines.

Review and maintain DÔEN apparel construction, quality, grade and tolerance standards.

Foster a respectful and inclusive team environment.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Skills And Abilities

Extensive knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, production sewing techniques, fabrication and trims.

Experience working with overseas, full‑package vendors.

Highly organized with the ability to track and maintain sample records and work closely with cross‑functional partners to meet deadlines.

Ability to proactively troubleshoot and solve highly complex problems.

Strong computer skills including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Word, Excel, and 2D and 3D pattern creation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, Patternmaking, or a related degree or equivalent work experience and education.

At least 6–8 years of experience in apparel technical design.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members of different backgrounds, skill sets, and cultural experiences.

A high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.

Ability to work autonomously and take initiative, exercise discretion and good judgment.

Ability to prioritize competing projects and meet deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Action oriented and results driven.

Ability to train, coach, and develop direct reports.

Ability to lead and inspire others.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation.
