Syntiant Corp., a leader in high‑growth AI software and semiconductor solutions, seeks an experienced SoC Design Engineer to develop our next‑generation Neural Decision Processor SoCs. The candidate will own the full design cycle from architecture to tape‑out, silicon bring‑up, and validation while collaborating with cross‑disciplinary teams including design, firmware, product, OPS, and field engineering.
Responsibilities
Microarchitecture and implementation of SoC design blocks
Integrate and verify design blocks at chip level
Perform quality checks of RTL with LINT, CDC, and DFT rules, documenting exceptions and waivers
Synthesize, constrain, and close timing for the SoC
Conduct Logic Equivalence Checks (LEC) for design blocks and full SoC
Implement low‑power modes using UPF
Implement Design‑for‑Test (DFT) features in the SoC
Participate in silicon bring‑up, validation, and characterization
Provide quality documentation and systematic reviews of implementation deliverables
Work with OPS to resolve volume manufacturing issues
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to debug and resolve platform and customer issues
Qualifications
Advanced degree in electrical or computer engineering
Track record of first‑pass success in ASIC development cycles
6+ years of experience with SoC development using SystemVerilog/SystemC
Expertise in SoC and subsystem design of ARM‑based SoCs
Deep knowledge of synthesis, constraint development, and timing closure
Experience with design quality checks (Lint, CDC, DFT rules)
Experience with low‑power design using UPF
Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python
High‑level synthesis (HLS) using SystemC a plus
Silicon bring‑up, debugging, and chip demo development experience
Knowledge of ARM architecture and AMBA bus standards (AXI, AHB, APB)
Design‑for‑Test (DFT) implementation experience a plus
SoC power estimation flow knowledge a plus
