We are a high‑end residential construction company specializing in full‑gut renovations, apartment combinations, and complex interior projects in New York City.
We are seeking a Site Superintendent who truly understands how buildings get built in NYC and not just how to manage a checklist. This role owns day‑to‑day field execution, labor direction, sequencing, and quality control across our projects.
This is a hands‑on leadership position. You will be the person who turns schedules into real work, holds crews accountable, and ensures projects move forward safely, cleanly, and efficiently.
If you’ve been frustrated by poor planning, weak field leadership, or unrealistic expectations from the office — this role is designed to fix that.
What You’ll Do
Take full ownership of daily jobsite operations on high‑end residential projects
Direct in‑house labor and subcontractors with clear priorities and expectations
Plan and execute work sequencing so crews are productive and focused
Solve constructability issues in real time before they become delays
Maintain clean, organized, professional jobsites at all times
Schedule & Coordination
Translate project schedules into daily and weekly work plans
Prepare look‑ahead schedules and manpower plans in coordination with the Project Manager
Coordinate deliveries, access, building requirements, and logistics common to NYC buildings
Anticipate bottlenecks and flag risks early
Quality & Safety
Enforce the highest standards of workmanship and finish quality
Ensure all work complies with drawings, specifications, and NYC building codes
Maintain strict jobsite safety standards and OSHA compliance
Interface with inspectors, building management, and authorities having jurisdiction
Work closely with Project Managers to align scope, schedule, and expectations
Provide honest field feedback to improve planning and estimating
Mentor junior field staff and help raise the overall standard of execution
What We’re Looking For Required
7+ years of NYC high‑end residential construction experience
Proven experience as a Superintendent or Lead Foreman on gut renovations and complex interiors
Deep understanding of sequencing, trades, and NYC jobsite realities
Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
Strong leadership presence — crews listen to you because you know how to build
Strongly Preferred
Experience working in occupied buildings, co‑ops, and condos
Background in hands‑on carpentry or trade work
Ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages
This role IS
Field leadership
This role is NOT
A paperwork‑heavy office position
A passive “watch and report” job
Why Join Us
Work on sophisticated, high‑end residential projects
Be given real authority to run the field properly
Collaborate directly with ownership and senior leadership
Help build the systems and standards of a growing company
Competitive compensation based on experience
Final Note to Candidates If you take pride in running a clean job, holding people accountable, and delivering work the right way and you’re tired of being asked to do the impossible without support; we want to talk.
