Location: Evansville, IN 47713 (Indiana healthcare jobs)
Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
Start Date: 11/03/2025
Assignment Length: 13-week contract
Shift: 12-hour day shifts
Hours per Week: 36
Number of Openings: 5 Med/Surg RN positions
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,780 – $1,910
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state)
BLS Certification (required before first shift)
ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in a Med/Surg or medical-surgical nursing setting
Strong patient assessment, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized patient care plans
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with clinical protocols and safety standards
Supervise and mentor Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences
Initiate discharge planning and provide patient/family education from admission
Promote a safe hospital environment by adhering to healthcare safety policies and procedures
Foster a positive team environment and participate in unit-based team-building activities
Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing nursing education
