Job Summary Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for a full‑time, non‑tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Ecology & Evolution in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology. The position starts in August 2026 and is a nine‑month contract. The work will be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

Teach at the undergraduate level with an emphasis on active and inquiry‑based learning.

Primary teaching responsibility is Principles of Biology II lecture (BIOL1108) and the accompanying lab (BIOL1108L), emphasizing evolution, ecology, organismal biology, data literacy, figure literacy, and the process of science.

Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve the undergraduate experience and advance students’ ability to succeed in the course and the biology program.

Coordinate Principles of Biology II (lecture or lab) in online or face‑to‑face modalities.

Provide other undergraduate biology and College of Science and Mathematics courses as needed by the department.

Summer teaching is optional and based on departmental needs.

This is a teaching‑focused position with no research expectations or research support.

Professional service to the university, department, and/or discipline.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Biology, Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, or a closely related discipline at the time of hire.

OR a minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non‑related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline.

AND teaching experience in Biology or a related discipline (graduate teaching assistantships and secondary education teaching experience qualify).

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated success using evidence‑based teaching practices at the university level.

A record of teaching organismal, ecology, and/or evolutionary biology courses.

A record of engagement in activities that foster student success.

Experience with developing and teaching online or hybrid courses that incorporate best practices in instructional design and student engagement, beyond short‑term or emergency measures.

Experience coordinating multi‑section courses.

Experience collaborating on instructional decisions.

Experience mentoring undergraduate students.
