Position Summary This position is critical; it provides workplace safety, operational, computer-related, and equipment training to 120+ employees in the Grounds Department. The incumbent prepares training documents and lesson plans, logs training documentation, and conducts refresher courses as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct training classes as part of the Grounds Academy, individualized training curriculum, and/or refresher training for probationary and existing staff.

Facilitate ELDT training program and new employee orientation.

Prepare training documents/master lesson plans related to operational, workplace safety issues, equipment maintenance/preventative maintenance issues, and other safety topics.

Use visual equipment and instructional media for classroom exercises. Use of PEP.

Data entry of training records in Word documents/spreadsheets and electronic systems.

Prepare monthly/annual training reports; coordinate and update training curriculum.

Manage filing systems for training records and lesson plans.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 2 years teaching experience at high school, technical or adult learning environment.

Bachelor’s degree in education, communication, or related field.

Bilingual.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Training methodology, time management, and organizational skills.

Demonstrate, present, and teach effectively in front of groups.

Operate audio‑visual equipment.

Develop teaching material using Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, etc.

Knowledge of landscape and hardscape maintenance and operations.

Physical Demands

Lift up to 40 lbs.

Sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, climb stairs during a normal workday.

Read/communicate effectively.

Drive as required.
