Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, sustaining patient comfort and providing appropriate education throughout treatment Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care Take and process x‑rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.) Provide superior chairside assistance (four‑handed dentistry) during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations Manage supply and inventory levels, placing and expediting orders as needed Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow What You’ll Gain

Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology Experience working in a fast‑paced and customer‑centric environment If required under the state dental practice act, dental assistant certification and/or x‑ray certification Excellent communication and organizational skills Access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job‑related functions; regular HIPAA training required; individual must protect PHI and maintain data safeguards Preferred Experience
1+ year experience as a dental assistant preferred; Ability to train a newly graduated dental assistant Dentrix or other dental software experience Dental assisting school certification in NV preferred Clinical experience chairside assisting during restorative procedures, extractions and minor oral surgery, root canals, impressions and temporary crowns Experience taking and processing digital X‑rays (bitewings, PAs, FMX) Knowledge of sterilization and infection control (OSHA & CDC standards); instrument setup, breakdown, and tray organization Familiar with suctioning, isolation, and patient positioning Friendly, calm, and reassuring demeanor Ability to explain procedures in simple terms; provide empathy for nervous or anxious patients Strong bedside manner Knowledge of dental imaging, scanners, charting & clinical charting software (including perio‑charting, restorations tracking, treatment planning), appointment scheduling & patient management tools Physical Requirements
Perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties of the position Prolonged periods sitting and standing Lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times Attend virtual training sessions (or in‑person) periodically throughout the year TB test required for all new hires in dental office positions; test arranged during pre‑employment process Who is Heartland Dental?
