Merchandising Lead Sam's Club

Base pay range: $21.00/hr - $29.00/hr

Position Summary We are looking for a Merchandising Lead to join our team in Des Plaines, IL. As head of our merchandising area, you will provide member service by acknowledging the member and identifying member needs, providing guidance and support to members regarding self‑service technology, assisting members with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving member issues and concerns, and promoting the Company's products and services.

What you’ll do

Assist management with the supervision of associates in assigned area of responsibility by assigning duties to associates, communicating goals and feedback, training associates on processes and procedures, and providing direction and guidance to associates on member service approaches and techniques to ensure member complaints and issues are resolved according to company guidelines.

Receive and stock supplies and merchandise from distribution centers and vendors, maintain the sales floor by merchandising, and complete paperwork logs.

Maintain facility safety, comply with company policies and procedures, and manage hazardous materials handling.

Ensure merchandise presentation and product placement meet company standards, including claims, returns, zoning, and cleaning.

Monitor product quality, rotation, dating, recalls, and sanitation standards.

Lead picking and staging of club pick‑up orders, ensuring items are selected and staged per company policy.

Develop and implement processes to meet business needs, collaborate with managers and partners, analyze information, monitor progress, and identify improvement opportunities.

Model compliance with company policies, ethics, and Open Door Policy, and support management in addressing compliance issues.

Lead teams, coordinate assignments, provide feedback, support goal‑setting, and help others adapt to change or new challenges.

Promote organizational culture, diversity and inclusion, and integrity in all actions.

Support customers and members, make decisions based on reliable data, and drive continuous improvement.

Additional Compensation Premiums may range from $0.35/hr to $3.00/hr depending on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.

6 months retail experience and 6 months customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Leadership and supervisory experience, including hiring, evaluating, mentoring, managing workload of others.
