Schneider Deli is a modern Jewish deli rooted in tradition, focused on house‑made food, consistency, and hospitality. Our River North location is a fast‑paced, high‑volume shop where execution, teamwork, and attention to detail matter.
Position Overview The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items to Schneider Deli standards during high‑volume service. This role requires strong fundamentals, organization, and the ability to maintain speed and quality under pressure. Ideal candidates take pride in their work, communicate well, and thrive in a team‑driven kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items accurately and efficiently to spec
Execute service with speed, consistency, and attention to detail
Set up, stock, and maintain assigned station throughout service
Follow all recipes, portioning, and plating standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the line and prep areas
Communicate clearly with teammates and front‑of‑house staff
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
Assist with prep, opening, and closing duties as assigned
Qualifications
Prior line cook or kitchen experience preferred
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
Reliable, punctual, and team‑oriented
Schedule & Availability Flexible availability including mornings, weekends, and holidays
Shifts vary based on business needs
