Packaging Windowing Machine Specialist (Carton Finishing)
Join Oliver Inc. as a Packaging Windowing Machine Specialist. Lead high‑speed windowing equipment, ensure precision of film and glue, keep equipment running, and meet production targets without compromising quality.
Base Pay Range $18.00/hr – $20.00/hr
Responsibilities
Own the setup of high‑speed windowing equipment for each production run.
Load and align paperboard blanks and window film rolls precisely to spec.
Calibrate glue application and placement guides to achieve spot‑on registration.
Verify in‑process quality: registration, glue adhesion, and film placement.
Hit target speeds while holding tight quality tolerances.
Prevent defects (misaligned windows, glue overflow, scratches, wrinkles) and document outcomes—counts, downtime, waste.
Partner with QC and finishing teammates to solve issues quickly and keep orders on schedule.
Keep equipment in top shape with routine cleaning, lubrication, and part changes.
Troubleshoot minor mechanical/electrical issues to reduce stoppages.
Champion safety—lockout/tagout, PPE, and a clean work area—every shift.
Collaborate with feeders, packers, and helpers to maximize efficiency.
Communicate proactively with supervisors about progress, materials, and mechanics.
Share knowledge and support training for apprentices and new hires.
Qualifications
Experience operating finishing/packaging machinery; folding carton or print/packaging preferred.
Mechanical aptitude for setups, adjustments, and light maintenance.
Meticulous attention to detail and quality standards.
Comfort reading job tickets, work orders, and specifications.
Solid basic math and measurement skills.
Direct experience on windowing machines (preferred).
Knowledge of adhesives, films, and paperboard substrates (preferred).
Forklift certification or safe material handling experience (preferred).
Work Environment
Standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs during the shift.
Manufacturing setting with noise, dust, and moving equipment.
Overtime and flexible shifts based on production needs.
