Job Overview Sr. PCA Technician – Performs routine preventive and corrective maintenance and basic adjustments on pre-conditioned air (PCA) units.

Responsibilities

Conduct daily and periodic shift inspections, cleaning and diagnostics of PCA mechanical/electrical system components based on an established scheduled preventive maintenance program.

Assist with electrical and mechanical adjustments to PCA units.

Monitor system operation; diagnose equipment failures and ensure equipment is running safely.

Perform preventive maintenance on motors, bearings, filters, hoses, connectors, drains, thermostats and other components.

Dismantle, repair and reassemble equipment or machines for stock replacement or restoration to operational status.

Work in tight and/or high spaces using appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.

Perform additional duties/assignments as may be required by management and/or supervisors.

Follow and comply with company and federally established policies and procedures.

Utilize a computer to perform a variety of communications, training and administrative processes.

Complete forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.

Provide direction, guidance and expertise to other personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities; conduct training and mentoring responsibilities, assign tasks, and assist other employee groups as directed by senior personnel.

Read and interpret repair manuals, basic schematics and supervisor/manager's instructions.

Complete all safety training as assigned by the Company.

Comply with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures.

Qualifications

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).

Must have a valid HVAC Universal license.

Minimum 3 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience and 1+ years PLC Logic experience.

Minimum 3 years of previous basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience.

Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous work experience in an Airport environment.

Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings.

Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment.

HVAC, welding/brazing, and/or plumbing knowledge and skills.

4+ years industrial mechanical and/or electrical background.

Minimum 2 years’ experience with PLC logic, industrial electrical controls (troubleshooting and repair), and/or Industrial HVAC certification.

Advanced computer skills.

Computer Skills

Basic computer knowledge, intermediate level in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

Other Requirements

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Must obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company insurance requirements.

Must comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.

Commit to working safely while accomplishing all tasks and promoting a safe work environment at all times.

Physical Demands The position requires frequent standing, walking, and reaching above shoulder level. The job includes lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs occasionally, handling and fingering tasks frequently, and occasional kneeling or bending. The work environment involves exposure to dust, dirt, and noise below OSHA action levels.

Work Environment Work is conducted under the Airport Terminal in an environment that may contain dust, dirt, and continual noise below OSHA action level.
