Job Description Member and partner of the patient care delivery team. Demonstrate a strong commitment to the philosophy and goals of the mission of Hebrew SeniorLife, recognize patient dignity and choice in daily life, and strive to make every encounter with patients and families a positive and meaningful experience while providing safe, efficient, and quality care.
Responsibilities
Perform a wide variety of duties under professional supervision related to the maintenance of the highest level of function of HRC patients.
Provide 75% clinical support and 25% clerical support to Inpatient PT, OT, SLP, Outpatient rehab services, MCU, RSU Rehab, and Circle of Fitness departments.
Under therapist supervision, conduct individual and group sessions including walking programs, exercise, and other maintenance programs. Provide direct visual supervision on RSU.
Maintain departmental equipment in clean and operable condition and assist in preparing and assigning assistive devices and ADL equipment.
Assist with department record keeping, documentation, and clerical duties. Collect and deliver mail for PT, OT, and SLP when the Administrative Assistant is absent.
Assist with duties in the Outpatient Clinic as needed.
Protect patient confidentiality by promoting professional staff communication in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Transport patients to and from therapies using proper transfer and ambulation techniques, and prepare patients for treatment (e.g., transfer to treatment plinth, dressing/undressing, draping, positioning).
Respond to call bells and patient requests and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain appropriate and timely client and non-client documentation for all clients treated and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Equivalent to a high school education.
Knowledge of basic mathematics skills and use of reports and records.
Physical Requirements
Contact with patients in various circumstances, including exposure to unpleasant odors, sights, and sounds.
Exposure to infections, contagious diseases, and blood borne pathogens; use of gloves, gown, and mask as necessary.
Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing or walking; lifting, positioning, transporting, and/or transferring patients.
Lifting supplies and equipment; considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
Salary Range $34,222.00 - $47,912.00
