District Sales Manager (located in CA or TX)
This position plays a key strategic and operational role within the Region. The primary purpose of this position is to manage the implementation of our sales strategies at the District level through the field sales force to achieve District Sales objectives. It is also critical for this position to manage the development of the sales personnel of the District including annual performance reviews, training and employee development. A secondary role for the position is to manage the key relationships with some of the District’s most important customers. This consists primarily of periodic sales reporting, corporate rebate negotiations and assisting in setting the overall strategic direction for specific accounts while the day to day operations with individual members are the responsibility of the field sales team.
Primary Responsibilities
Assisting the Field Sales Force in implementation of sales strategies.
Assisting in the selection and training of other Sales Personnel within the District.
Assisting in the preparation of annual sales forecasts and sales expense estimates.
Manage Sales Representatives assigned to a territory including performance reviews, training and employee development
The candidate must possess very strong analytical skills that will provide the foundation to make concise recommendations to both internal management and the customers.
It is critical that you are capable of nurturing strong relationships with key people within the Districts customer base.
Be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, while monitoring the progress of each, and assure they continue to progress to completion.
Communicate strategies to District field sales personnel.
Track and monitor sales performance of District customers by Representative.
Track and monitor sales call performance of District Sales Personnel.
Work within established budgets to control expenses, and to maximize profitability within the District.
Complete required reports and analysis in a timely manner.
Monthly Pay Range $7,785.00 - $11,000.00. Compensation is based on the skills and experience of the candidate. For this role, you would also be eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree required.
An applied knowledge of the building industry is preferred.
An overall solid sales performance history.
Previous supervisor/sales management experience would prove beneficial.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and presentation skills are a must.
Excellent decision making and problem solving skills.
Demonstration of the ability to take initiative.
Must possess strong planning, prioritizing and goal setting skills.
Demonstration of the ability to coach and motivate others.
Candidates must desire working in a team environment, be dependable and demonstrate a high degree of loyalty and personal integrity.
You must have a strategic mind, demonstrating success in formulating your own strategies and concepts.
Have demonstrated the ability to persuade and influence.
An extensive knowledge of all VELUX product lines is preferred.
Must have demonstrated high level capabilities with Excel and Powerpoint.
Strong Business Warehouse and Qlikview abilities are preferred.
Must present a positive and professional appearance.
Ability to stay informed of current industry trends and apply information to sales opportunities.
