Location: MercyOne Elkader Medical Center, Elkader, IA
Job Overview MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is a 25‑bed critical access hospital in Clayton County. The Emergency Department operates 24×7 with board‑certified physicians and advanced practitioners. The hospital is certified Level IV Trauma Center. This role seeks a Paramedic PRN to respond to 911 calls and interfacility transfers within the Central Ambulance service‑area.
Employment Type Part‑time
Shift Rotating Shift
Key Responsibilities
Respond to 911 calls and interfacility tiered transfer requests.
Provide direct patient care in pre‑hospital and hospital settings, under supervision of a registered nurse.
Initiate and provide care within scope of practice as defined by law (pediatric, adult, geriatric).
Assist with delegated tasks in the emergency department.
Cover on‑call hours as directed and per departmental need.
Schedule
Varies as PRN and calls.
Qualifications
Licensed Paramedic in the State of Iowa, active licensure.
Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certification.
Completion of required continuing education every two years.
Education
Licensed State of Iowa Paramedic (required); must maintain active licensure.
Complete required continuing education every two years.
Current ACLS, PALS, BLS.
