A&P Mechanic III About the Role As an A&P Mechanic III, you’ll repair, replace, and maintain key aircraft components. You’ll inspect mechanical and functional systems, test parts, and replace faulty components. Using specialized tools, you’ll diagnose issues and ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards. Expertise in airframe maintenance, power plant mechanics, or combined A&P systems is required.
What You’ll Do
Perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance on aircraft systems and components.
Test and replace defective parts using appropriate tools and equipment.
Ensure compliance with FAA and international safety standards.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, stand, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Good vision (color, depth perception) and hearing.
Frequent use of hands and fingers for detailed work.
Work Conditions
Exposure to outdoor weather, chemicals, and loud noise.
Safety Sensitive
Responsible for safety of people and property.
Handles hazardous materials and inspects aircraft structures and equipment.
Must-Have Skills
Active FAA Airframe & Powerplant certification (no violations).
Own tools and reliable transportation.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
Advanced troubleshooting and repair skills for aircraft airframes and engines.
Preferred Skills
FAA repair station or Quality Assurance experience.
Ability to travel and work flexible shifts.
Familiarity with FAR/DFARS regulations.
Aerospace/Defense or military background.
Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED plus 5 years of relevant experience.
Higher degree may substitute for experience.
Testing Required
Hearing exam, Ishihara eye exam, Non-DOT physical.
