Position Overview The Maintenance Mechanic will install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s mechanical and electrical equipment.

Key Job Responsibilities

Perform diverse duties to install and maintain production machines and electrical equipment.

Plan, layout, install, and repair complex electrical equipment including control centers, panels, relays, circuit breakers, electronic controls, and other equipment.

Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, detect and replace defective control modules, and test and make adjustments.

Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines and plant facilities such as air compressors, lighting systems, cranes, welding machines, and bandsaw.

Perform plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry functions as needed.

Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and materials handling equipment to perform duties.

Build and wire electrical circuits for industrial applications, reading blueprints.

Detect faulty operations, report defective materials, and notify proper supervision of any unusual situations.

Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas, interpreting engineering blueprints.

Service and maintain equipment, including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production equipment.

Inspect and assess functionality of production machines.

Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical breakdowns.

Use hand and machine tools as necessary.

Remove and replace parts for repairs or upgrades as directed.

Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks.

Communicate with the maintenance supervisor and manager about work orders and with the production team on repair and PM status, maintaining a clean work area.

Prepare and submit maintenance reports using CMM computer maintenance management software.

Other tasks as assigned by TAS.

Job Skills

Apply advanced trades and mathematics using CAD drawings and specifications.

Exercise judgment to plan and perform unusual or difficult work with limited methods.

Make decisions involving initiative and ingenuity.

Conduct troubleshooting in production equipment.

Handle multitask situations and work independently with minimal supervision.

Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and materials handling equipment.

Read basic mechanical and electrical prints.

Use test and measurement tools, tape measure, and OD mics.

Use electrical testers, multimeters, and voltage testers.

Troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical components.

Use computer email and basic programs.

Education and Training

High School or Technical School education.

PLC training is a plus.

Crane repair training is a plus.

Welding machine repair training is a plus.

Forklift repair training is a plus.

HVAC repair training is a plus.

Minimum Requirements

Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Ability to work up to 12 hours a day when required.

Lock‑out Tag‑out, HAZMAT, Forklift Safety.

Electrostatic Discharge, Foreign Object Damage, and Quality System Awareness.

Electrical troubleshooting and mechanical experience required.

Two years of Maintenance Mechanic experience.

Good communication and relationships with other employees.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Proactive in planning assigned tasks to reduce production downtime.

Ability to learn new skills, machines, and maintenance procedures.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Work performed in a shop environment.

Exposed to various elements with no adverse conditions.

Requires normal vision and no color blindness.

Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50 lbs of materials.

Regularly required to sit or stand, bend, and reach.

Safety glasses are required.

Hard hat required.

Earplugs recommended.

Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day with a lunch break, and work up to 6 days a week.

Ability to work in a non‑air‑conditioned environment.

Steel‑toe boots required in the manufacturing facility.
