Position Overview
Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Systems Engineer I for our Systems Excellence Department at the St. Petersburg, FL location. This is an onsite role for U.S. citizens who are eligible for a DoD Secret clearance. What You Will Do
Define requirements, design, and architecture for subsystems of the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) product line as part of Advanced Networking Solutions (ANS). Participate in the systems development lifecycle including trade studies, system design, requirements definition, allocation, traceability, integration, verification, and qualification. Collaborate across engineering disciplines to execute program milestones. What You Will Learn
You will gain technical experience, mentorship opportunities, and exposure to established engineers within the Systems Excellence Department. You will work with CEC subject matter experts, support a diverse customer base, and develop skills in algorithm development, system‑level design/test, and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships). Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with operation, test, and troubleshooting of naval systems. Experience with integration, verification, and validation planning documentation, integration and test plans, procedures, reports, status reports, and related documentation. Agile development experience, including project estimating, reporting, and backlog management. Programming experience in C/C++, Python, or other programming languages; knowledge of Linux. Experience with DevSecOps/TDD/BDD; Security+ certification. Experience with automated test scripting and automated data analysis. Equal Opportunity Statement
