Overview
The Division of Administration/Office of Technology Services has a vacancy for an SAP FICO Business Analyst located within the Applications and Data Management Section. This is a professional journeyman level position on the Financial team of the OTS.
Responsibilities
Support the Financial (FI) modules of LaGov (SAP R/3) including system assurance tasks, answering questions, providing assistance, and making recommendations to solve moderately complex system and user related issues.
Work with OTS and vendor staff concerning application designs, problems, and issues.
Prepare estimates and schedules for assigned tasks and provide input into the development of work plans for projects; ensure successful completion with little supervision.
Analyze requests for changes to ensure compliance with state policies and practices; develop business specifications for change requests and assist in setting priorities.
Assist in analyzing and testing new releases and changes, develop test plans, conduct and document tests, and evaluate results.
Prepare for the implementation of new releases and changes by revising documentation, online help, training materials, user notifications, and production schedules.
Develop and maintain user and project documentation for current and new releases (online help, user manuals, quick reference guides, test documentation, training documentation).
Develop training materials for new users and continuing education programs; work with managers and analysts to analyze training needs, conduct classes and workshops, and evaluate training effectiveness.
Assist in planning and coordinating group meetings and preparing and giving presentations (agency seminars, workshops, application demonstrations).
Perform all other tasks, special projects, analysis, studies, and plans as directed, including special reports, audits, assistance to control agencies, and development and installation of new ERP applications or releases.
Qualifications
Two years of experience in information technology; OR Six years of full‑time work experience in any field; OR An associate’s degree in information technology; OR A bachelor’s degree.
Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience toward the six years requirement; maximum substitution 120 semester hours.
Certification substitution: A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.
Knowledge of SAP FI modules (Grant Management, Accounts Receivable, Sales and Distribution, General Ledger, Federal Billing practices) and general knowledge of other FI modules.
Ability to relate knowledge across multiple components of the ERP system.
General knowledge of all other FI modules and ability to relate across multiple components.
