REGISTERED NURSE - NEURO TRAUMA INTENSIVE CARE UNIT - NIGHTS - Full-Time
Job Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
Management of ventriculostomy, EVD, and ICP.
Nursing care of patients with non-traumatic ICH, non-traumatic SAH, seizures.
Nursing care of patients post tPA, thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, carotid artery stenting and intra-cranial stenting.
Management of blood pressure abnormalities with parenteral vasoactive agents. Completion of complex neurological assessments / scales
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications Education
Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
Experience
Minimum of six months critical care RN experience in an acute care facility within the last five years required, or successful completion of an approved critical care training course / orientation and standard competencies within six months of hire.
Preferred : Minimum of one year RN experience in an Intensive Care unit specializing in Cardiac, Neuro or Trauma
Credentials
Required : State of Oregon Nursing License
Required : BLS at date of hire
Required : ACLS required within a grace period according to Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements policy.
Required : NIHSS and TNCC required within 12 months of hire / transfer date.
Preferred : CCRN and CMC
Compensation $47.40 - $74.48 / hour
