Safety Coordinator Position for Local Downtown Fort Wayne Manufacturing Company now hiring!

Safety Coordinator Details
Temp‑to‑Hire position
$22.00 to $25.00 /hour
Full Time work available
First Shift (Monday through Friday from 07:00am to 04:00pm)
Under direct supervision, perform a variety of clerical duties and technical tasks for the Safety Department.
Compile and maintain records of safety transactions and office activities
Process Work injuries: authorize clinic visits, track follow‑up appointments, find and track restrictive duty assignments, first report of injury form & file insurance claims.
Maintain OSHA log information in electronic records management
Monitor the Deister IDEM program for required inspections and waste counts.
Updates employee rosters for Toolbox Huddles, trainings, and certifications (i.e. forklift driver lists, first aid).
Schedule follow‑up and make‑up hearing tests for individual employees (OSHA Hearing Conservation Program)
And other Safety Management Tasks
Safety Coordinator Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with 1‑3 years in Occupational Safety & Health experience, preferably in manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
Experience with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word and Publisher.
Applicant may be subject to a background check.
Pre‑employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment.
