The Rehabilitation Center of Independence is seeking a compassionate and experienced
Registered Nurse (RN)
to serve as our
Weekend Supervisor / Unit Manager . In this leadership role, you’ll oversee nursing operations during weekend shifts to ensure high‑quality care and positive outcomes for our residents.
This is a great opportunity for an RN who enjoys leading a team, ensuring regulatory compliance, and improving care outcomes in a supportive, team‑based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight: Supervise and support nursing staff during weekend shifts.
Deliver and monitor quality resident care based on individualized care plans.
Ensure all care complies with facility policies, state/federal regulations, and best practices.
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for staff.
Leadership & Coordination: Manage staff assignments and workflows for optimal care delivery.
Oversee weekend admissions, discharges, and physician communications.
Participate in daily shift change reports and maintain effective inter‑shift communication.
Respond to and investigate incidents, accidents, and complaints as needed.
Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely documentation in PointClickCare (PCC).
Monitor compliance with medication administration protocols and physician orders.
Support infection control practices and safety policies.
Participate in MDS coordination and care planning processes.
Human Resources Support: Supervise and evaluate weekend nursing staff performance.
Assist with staff education, coaching, and in‑service training.
Promote positive team culture and employee relations.
Direct Care Responsibilities (as Needed): Provide hands‑on nursing care, including medication administration and wound care.
Handle emergencies and respond to changes in resident condition.
Document assessments, interventions, and resident outcomes.
Qualifications
Active RN License in the state of Missouri (or compact state).
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a long‑term care or skilled nursing facility (preferred).
BLS/CPR Certification required.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
Proficient with EHR systems (PointClickCare experience a plus).
