Oncology RN Job Details
Location: Asheville, NC 28801
Unit: Oncology/Womens Surgical (K9A)
Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
Duration: 13-week contract
Start Date: November 17, 2025
End Date: February 16, 2026
Shift: 12-hour day shifts (6:45AM – 7:15PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend days per schedule
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1680-$1800
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience; oncology nursing experience preferred
Chemo Certification preferred for oncology RN roles
Strong teamwork, communication, and willingness to learn
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered clinical environment
Oncology Nurse Responsibilities
Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to oncology and women's surgical patients
Monitor patient status, administer medications, and deliver prescribed treatments
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
Assist with procedures such as pelvic exams, echocardiograms, and thoracentesis
Document patient care using Cerner EMR system
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and unit guidelines
Float to other medical-surgical units as needed (rarely required)
