Role Overview We have an exciting opportunity for a

Stress Analyst

to join the team with Bastion Technologies, a teammate company.

Key Responsibilities

Perform classical hand stress analysis, finite element stress analysis, and fracture analysis.

Be familiar with NASA standards for analysis, including Fracture Control.

Have experience using NASGRO.

Be proficient in the use of finite element modeling techniques using FEMAP or PATRAN for model development and NASTRAN for solutions.

Prepare structural analysis reports and work with other engineers to find resolutions to problems.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field or a related area.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

Familiarity with desktop software applications; MS Office is required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferences

Previous experience performing structural analysis on NASA spaceflight hardware.

Experience using FEMAP or PATRAN and MSC/NASTRAN.

Essential Functions Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance Regular attendance in accordance with the established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Other Essential Functions Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
